In January 2020 ICC lost a much loved member, Leroy Hodge. We vowed to ride to Brighton in his name. We all know why that didn’t happen in 2020 but we fulfilled our promise this year.
The ride was organised by David Mason for Sunday 4th of July. By co-incidence we were in London for our second Covid jab the Friday before.
About 40 ICCers, and Leroy’s son, rode to Brighton in different groups and routes to enjoy Fish ‘n Chips on the beach and to talk about Leroy.
It was suggested we ride in a colourful cap, as Leroy loved a hat. I bought the most colourful one I could find. I’d been in contact with the Sickle Cell Society and agreed to ride in red socks to represent them. Thanks to the generosity of ICC members we raised over a thousand pounds for the Society in Leroy’s name.

Ride in peace Leroy.
